Just thought I'd give you an update.
The farrier came on Wednesday as planned, he does already do a few barefoot horses. He could see no reason why he shouldn't take to being barefoot as he already has good strong hooves. So off the shoes came.
Turned him out yesterday and never rode.
Today we went out for about half an hour, just a walk down the road to a green lane, it's got a fair few small stones before you get to the grass and he was fine nothing bothered him.
He was striding out as normal, I didn't feel him say "ouch" once, we have a gravel drive and even that didn't bother him.
The only difference today was he was looking at and spooking at everything alot more than normal, but he never once slipped after jumping at leaves, birds, monsters in the hedge etc.
I am so pleased with him and am praying he continues like this.
