I posted last week re this as I was hoping to claim for care of my horse but everyones experiences made me the think I'd not get a thing so only just got round to phoning them...

Thought a few of you might be interested to hear how I got on.

Don't get me wrong, they are not going to give me £1ks in compensation BUT they are going to give me £50 a week for as long as I am off work which will exactly pay for the difference between full and normal livery so exactly what I was after.

Quite pleased!

That's good news then

. At least it's some help.

Thats great news at least like you say it will cover his livery. The other thing it is worth looking into is silly things like the mortgage, and any loans and credit cards if you are going to be off work a while i think ( dont quote me on it ) but if you pay payment protection insurance you might be able to get them to cover a % of payments. Might be worth looking into if nothing else.

Fab news.

Re PPI, unfortunately you are very unlikely to get payments from them as it is a sporting injury, and there are all sorts of exclusions around that.

Yep, there is that aswell!! Even if you lost your income, with those policies they very rarely pay out for such injuries! But doesnt apply anyway!!

How you feeling?

I manged to get a couple of credit car repayments and mortgare repayments after my car accident on those insurance policies, I was on full pay from work too, and of course my car insurance people also helped me claim compensation for injuries. It is definitely worth a try

When I bust my leg I got sick pay and RIABS(racing industry something or other) insurance for 9 months. Also got disability benefit.
Had payment protection on my car payments which covered the whole time.
Was the most money ive ever had!
