well been to the yard to sort out the girlie. Unbandaged her leg and wiped the sudocrem off so i could see what was happening and take some photos of it.
So here is the first piccies of her leg (from a few angles) Just click on them to enlarge them

You can just about see from the last piccie how much her leg is swollen. There isnt much definition to it, but there wasnt as much heat in it tonight.
Can now see what is going on, the skin is alot redder than I expected

, and there a quite few more scabs that have been hidding under her hair

.
So its worse than I originally thought

but were on our way to clearing it up
smile.gif
. Shes on her antibiotics, and shes eaten her tea without any fuss
grin.gif
- thank god for that. It had bute & trimeds in so she must realise what im doing is to help her. Either that or she just cant be arsed to leave it LOL

So have redone the clingfilm again tonight so will have to see how many more scabs come off in the morning.

Hi-ye,
Thanks for the update, I'm never heard of cling film being used before, so I'm interested to see if it works.
It's good to hear the heat is reducing, but it's a pity it's a lot redder than you had expected...

It's still early days, but if you can keep her in and keep treating her, you should soon see an improvement.

Please keep us informed..

Its bound to take the a-b a while to work, and the cream plus clingfilm should remove any scabs. With a horse as sensitive skinned as this I would invest in some of those chaps they can wear in the field. Otherwise it will keep returning..

thanks for this HH - i was wondering how long i should be leaving it for.
Decided that id do it for 24 hrs to see how we got on with that. Most of the scabs are off now. Im wiping it over with baby wipes in a morning and at night so i can check the progress but im not washing any oils etc off her leg.

I left it open today just put sudocrem on it - didnt clingfilm it. How long do you thinki should be putting the sudocrem on for or should i use something else now?
just uploaded some more piccies from this morning /night. What do you think to it now?
this morning

tonight

please excuse the brown marks - dont know how she bloody manages to get them that dirty when shes in her stable - myst be the horslyx block shes got

i have 2 sets of sportabac boots for her and 1 set of the westropp boots for her. Im thinking I might have to invest in a set of the Equilibrium ones though - just so bloody expensive especially as she manages to keep nicking them so they get holes in them.
