Well I brought him in this afternoon and he managed to eat a scoop of Build Up Mix plus 2 handfuls of pasture mix with a bit of chaff - that has taken him since 4 p.m. I put a manger over the door and he seemed a bit better with that.

He's eating the odd mouthful of haylage but the haynet is still half full.

What is interesting though is that I have cut him some nice clover grass and he's gobbled down 2 filled buckets of it.

This is positive I hope. I am dreading the thought that he just might not be an eater at all and I'm going to struggle with him. I'm so used to having a real pig of a horse so this is quite upsetting.

Do you think that once he's got into a routine things might look up a bit?!! I really hope so otherwise I've definately bought the wrong horse and it would be an expensive mistake to make.

What did his previous owner feed him.My older mare hates haylage, give her the choice hay or the other stuff, hay every time. I've had fussy eaters in the past, found little and often to begin with plus carrots or apples chopped in. I find that the winergy feeds are good but a little expensive but I have no waste.
