Farrier came today, hoof tested and went through the routine. Absolutely nothing. However an earlier discussion this week reminded me that back in January we'd started to walk around a gravelled area inbetween out field and the tack up area (she takes exception to this and we'd got into the habit of avoiding it...merely had forgotton). Anyhow it suggested sensitive hoofs which apparently come about with age. Anyhow a set of pads later and we were back to our normal selves

Ok, so the hoof bill has doubled....I'll eat less, however, what a relief knowing the answer. We've not had 2 weeks off so shall start gradually working back up though I'll be leaving the jumping out until the ground becomes soft again...I'm so happy

...feels a tad uneasy in the canter so have left that off but the answer was certainly in the hoofs

I made the grim mistake of looking up possible causes for lameness....OMG...if I'd called the vet we'd be at Newmarket by now having nerve blocks
