As some of you will have seen yesterday from my report on "the day from hell" Hovis' GF is back in hospital.
To recap she was kicked in the field nearly 3 weeks and suffered an infected hock as a result.
She has had two operations to clean up the joint and remove bone fragments and had been sent home for box rest.
On sunday she suddenly started going down hill and she was taken (after some hiccups along the way!) back to the vetinary hospital.
They scanned, x-rayed and tapped the joint again that night and discovered yet another bone fragment and infection.
She is undergoing another operation tomorrow to remove the bone fragment they can see and clean up the bone again.
As you can imagine her owner is beside herself with stress and worry.
Can I ask for the famous HHO vibes to kick into force again. She is a wonderful mare, talented beyond belief and of course the unrequited love of Hovis' life.

Aww how sad

sending you all lots & lots of *Vibes* x

Sending her huge vibes for her recovery - I know when Breeze damaged her hock, my vet was very concerned about infection setting in and said that these infections can be very difficult to deal with, but not impossible to get rid of.

At least she is young and fit which will help.

Similar thing happened to a yearling of my YO during the summer. I understand he had four operations to clean it up and it was touch and go for a couple of weeks. He's now back with us, looking very well, and as far as I can see, no trace of lameness or other problems.

Everything crossed and heaps of <<<<<<<<<<<< vibes>>>>>>>>>>> for her tomorrow.
