sorry story is a lady called me wanting me to exercise her horses turned out only to be one of her horses a new 16.2 gelding used to be kept with alot of race horses hasn't been riden for 6 months seems a sweet horse and i posted saying i didn't know how much to charge her .

If you are being paid you need public liability insurance if you are working then you need to declare it and it will be taxed, if you don't work but claim anything then would should be very careful. If you are unemployed but don't claim anything then you may need to keep accounts , the BHS should be able to help you with this.I know you are probably only doing this as casual work but things can go wrong, check the horse is insured at the least

well the rate sounds good, but if you are only making £20 a week and you dont know how enjoyable the rides are going to be, then i would have a trial period first, also look into how much insurance will be for you.

regarding the tax thing - you actually need to earn quite a bit to start being taxed - its definately over £4000 a year, so if you are not working at the moment, you would need to ride this horse 200 times before tax starts to kick in...

does that make sense???

yes that makes sense thanks no i work full time as well but just doing it as a hobbie but they are just covering petrol which is the £20.00 so i dont think i really need to declare it but will definatley look into insurance.
