August 8th a yearling caught his side on a staple gate latch (gate was tied open so they had the run of two fields.

Stitching - which took three hours broke down two days later.

I used pure Neem oil to keep it clean and fly free. This did a good job of stopping it from going proud. Impossible to dress with manuka and just slathering it in honey was a mess that just ran off.
August 22nd.

I then was recommended Resolve Wound ointment from America. I cannot believe how fast it has helped to heal the wound. From the above picture to this in seven weeks.

The flank area is moving forward fast and where the flap was - which looked as if it was going to leave a large sausage like lump is now flat and the side area is now growing hair.
The maker of Resolve is fairly certain that it is not even going to scar.

These are the latest on the wound.
Big difference to the last picture which was about 10 days ago. The wound is red because it had just been washed and scrubbed.

I cannot believe how the Resolve Wound works so fast.

Thats looking great. Our 25 yr old ex eventer galloped into a fence strainer on the 31st March this year. 3.5 hrs and 60 stitches later, he too was as fixed as he could be.

His was vertically down from the wither then horizontally back for maybe 16 inches.

After 3 weeks a big piece of skin had died and had to be removed leaving a triangle missing of about 8 in x 8in x 10in.

It too was impossible to dress as such, and he spent the summer with a shoulder protector on to stop the flies getting at it. We are coming up for 7 months now, and there is only about 1.5cm round left to heal.

They are amazing how they heal, young or old. :)
