well he was not quite so lame tonight as he was this morning. Definately off hind though. Still no heat or tenderness anywhere and it obviously isn't hurting him too much as he was flying along at trot in the outdoor school

got a friend to trot him up so I could see what he was like. now normally in hand you have to drag him along or lots of encouragement but none today. So cold hosed him for a good 10 minutes and have turned him out again. Will still get the vet to check him out tomorrow as I would rather know exactly what is wrong with him. Does it sound like a pulled muscle if he has improved so much since this morning?

Eurgh - didnt read your earlier post. Sorry to hear about Pidge, you seem to have made loads of progress with him recently! But it seems horses are goin lame left, right & centre this week. Hard ground is taking its toll! Which vet do you use (sorry Im nosey)

such a bummer as am so looking forward to the first week in May where we have local show, Somerford farm ride and then Hunter Trials! Am kicking myself if its the hard ground from Saturday

trotted through first field, lots of grass on it, and had a very sedate canter through the second one which was cut short due to friend coming off her horse and landing in a load of slurry

so didn't really do anything to cause a problem I wouyld have thought? the ground was a bit cut up in places though thinking about it where people must have ridden when the ground was wet, could that have caused his lameness?
Use Straitons in Penkridge as they have lots of vets and more importantly lots of horse vets
