Following last night's post......

After an endless night of tossing and turning and worrying what the morning would bring (daylight couldn't come fast enough!), I went up to check on him first thing this morning. Stomach was churning all the way up in the car, really felt like I could throw up! As I was driving up the lane I could see him standing in the field through the hedgerow (bonus!) in an overgrown part of the field. Got his headcollar and leadrope from the stable and walked to the gate. I could see him looking at the gate as I was approaching but he made no move to come to me like he usually does.
Called him, still didn't move, opened the gate, still didn't move! By this time, my heart has started hammering and I'm thinking "He's too lame to walk!" so I walked down to him, only to find he was stuck in some brambles and was waiting to be rescued! I had to trash my way through to get to him.
Anyway, I led him out of the field and walked him up and down the lane and he's fine!! No lameness whatsoever. I'm so relieved! Text my friend to ask her to come and look at him while I led him and she confirmed exactly what I thought. I'm soooo happy today
