Update on McElvey

Just watched The One Show and the vet on there said that he fractured his back as a result of colliding with a barrier. He was paralysed and therefore not in any pain as far as they can tell. Clare Balding was sayiung that his tendons were absolutely fine and he had been checked by his own vet as well as the course vet. Seems such a shame he had to suffer such a terrible accident. RIP little man.

I saw him flip over at the barrier. Such a shame. They were with him when it happened so vet saw it all

What happened? I understood he unseated his jockey and then ran into the barrier is that right? Poor thing - I hope he wasn't in pain before being PTS

Poor horse. It's such a terrible thing to happen. As ridiculous as it sounds I feel almost gulity and responsible because I had money on him.

This is the worse bit of any sport.

He unseated his rider and then jumped the next fence loose and apparently ran into the barrier which resulted in his death. Am wondering what caused him to run into the barrier though, it's not something you hear about too often is it?
