Well I am so glad I decided the Big Lump and I should split because yet again my Mum has had a fall at home (4 in 24 hrs would you believe) and yet again she is back in hospital having tests(shes 87).

I have printed off Drifters Irish eventing record and his original ad that I bought him from plus wrote up some notes for Dave. Its a little bit heartbreaking when I think of the dreams I had for us when I bought him but I know it is important to sell him before I spoil him.

I think in hindsight I should have had a horse like a labrador and I bought a Border Collie - young enthusiastic loves his work but needs lots of it the sort of horse I should have had 20 years ago not now.

They have continued to hack him out and about and he has been Cross Country Schooling and jumped everything as they said - not got a stop in him.

When I wrote my notes for Dave I thought Bloomin heck why am I selling him especially when I wrote how good he was when I hacked him out in heavy traffic with a friend.

Enough of this rambling tomorrow I take his paperwork over he has a couple of people lined up to try him and apparently I am to wear my jodphurs as I am destined to hack out a little brown cob.

The people who are selling him for you sound fab, and just what you need with making you have a go on a little brown cob :) (i should imagine) It really sounds as though they are trying to make this easy for you and Drifter. I am sure he will end up in a fab home where he gets to go out and gallop around and jump loads. Which from your other posts sounds like he would love!

Sorry to hear about your mum, but glad that it has made you more certain of your decision.

Sorry to hear about your Mum. That can't have done her back any good :(. I hope your Dad is bearing up with all the worry.

Dave sounds like a good bloke and it's great that Drifter has been out and about and been a good boy. It does sound like the right thing to do, even though it must be hard.

Have a good ride tomorrow :).

Thanks Quirky this will make you smile. When I went to see my Mum she was sat in her Nighty and she said to me " Hello Darling are you alright" (she knows I hate hospital visiting) and then she said "I'm sorry I cant make you a cup of tea!"

So I ate her fudge as it was too hard for her and I had taken her in some little kiddies haribo sweeties that are soft chewy jelly animals and she really liked them.

So sorry to hear about your mum! Glad to hear she was well enough to think she should make you a cup of tea! Hope she recovers from the fall ok.

I am very sorry that you have decided to sell your lovely boy, but from your posts it sounds like you are making the right decision. I hope it all goes well when you ride out on little cob and the very best of luck with the sale.
