ok so girl at my yard had vet out yesterday to lok at her appoloosa's eye for moon blindness. so vet came out and she didnt mention anything about it so he could make an un-biased diagnosis?! (apparently) he said it was just conjunctivitus [sp] but there was some unusual marbelling in the eye. he conclusion to this was.... well if hes got spots every where else, then y wouldnt he have spots in his eyes????!!!! he also said he hadnt looked at enough appoloosas eyes to confirm this? eh? WHAT??? surely he should go do some reasearch and get back to her? hes the top horse vet on the island! so for now shes got anti inflamatries and bute, which is what you would do for moon blindness in the beginning any way and we are just gonna keep an eye one him! eye eye.

on another note: for those of you who read my post about my beach accident a few weeks back... i went to the same beach again last night, did a bit of schooling and had a paddle. not a gallop i know but it was quite busy with dog walkers. but im proud of myself any how.

Appaloosa are prone to uveitis.

They also sometimes have odd coloured eyes which sometimes get mistaken for cataracts. This info is from the opthalmologist that treats the horse I have with uveitis (she is bay)

I looked at an appaloosa to buy and asked him those questions.
