My brother has just rehomed a 4 month old black lab dog

It was not through any rescue charities etc but via word of mouth. Basically his mum was a police sniffer dog (now retired) and his dad was the "lab next door". Mum was a bit naughty and had a one night stand, resulting in some unwanted pups... The chap who owns the mum didn't want to advertise/sell them, so relied on word of mouth to find new homes (hence him being 4 months old before finding one, lol). He has settled in well, apart from being used to getting up at 5am every morning, and therefore waking my brother up at the same time, lol!

My brother is very happy, and the dog (as yet still unamed - he was picked up on Saturday) also seems happy to have such a great home.

Thank you everyone on here that offered numbers/contacts etc.

One piccie that he text me at 5am Sunday morning!

Aww bless, he's sooo cute...... Nice to hear someone re-homong sensibly.
One of the local dog owners I occasionally bump into had added a 12 month old black lab bitch to his family. She is absolutely gorgeous, underweight, but is a real poppet.
They got her as she was a failed gun dog and the guy was going to shoot her!!??!?!?
I've told them to send the next one my way - I was so shocked.
My lab doesn't know how lucky she is.....

It's so worth contacting the forces about rehoming dogs. Our last spangle came to us from the army as a failed bomb disposal dog. He had small issues (possessive so couldnt be homed with kids) and they were going to PTS. He was only three

. But we homed him (for free, they asked for no donation, just a good home) and he was the best dog we've ever had. His issues just 'went' once he was settled, and he was already trained to sit, down, heel, stay etc.
