For those of you that remember a few months back, my mare was due to be put to sleep after being diagnosed with rectal muscle failure, an unknown blood virus, a heart murmor, deadly fever and extreme colic. Well.... Look at her now!
Sucess story or what!

Everyone on this forum was so supportive, It was so lovely to read everyones kind messages and it really did keep us all strong.
Olivia is now back to her normal self and is jumping her first BSJA of 2010 in a few weeks time! xxxxx
PS - no special prizes for pointing out that she is wearing draw reins, I know the score. Its a one off and they are used VERY carefully.

Thats great news for you both, well done to the vets and yourself for getting her through the bad times. The last 12 months have flown by for me too. My mare was diagnosed with a tear in her ddft and we are now back riding, though shes on box confinement until her next check up in May, then hopefully she will be back in a field after all this time inside.

Hope your jumping goes well and that Olivia stays happy and healthy. x

Well done for getting her through all that. She looks great now :D.
It's wonderful when they beat the odds. Lucy was given a less than 50% chance of servival from a rare illness in nov and she's still here going strong. She'll never be better but the vets didn't hold much hope for keeping her illness stable. So i know how you feel. Good luck with the jumping let us know how you get on.

I'm so pleased to see and read that - such a nice happy ending to what was a very scary diagnosis. Just shows in some instances how something can turn around. Enjoy the jumping. She's beautiful.
