Firstly, thank you to everyone for your kind words on my post yesterday
I passed them onto her ladyship, who was looking gratifyingly sheepish this morning
The vet has just been, and the little moo has had to have 5 staples in her leg
The vet was very pleased with what we did last night - at the moment it looks like we were lucky to have caught her just after she did it, and having cleaned it thoroughly, repositioned the flap of skin and bandaged it, the skin has actually stayed in place so far. Fingers crossed it doesnt shrivel and die now - obviously there is a chance it may do so, but the vet seemed to think it was clean enough to staple in place. So Elz is now back to box rest for a week or so, bandaged up to the eye balls
I will also just say (because I am still cross with her, but credit where credit is due
) she was an angel for the vet - her leg is obviously feeling very sore but he stapled her without any anaesthetic or sedation. She flinched a bit, and gave me a pained look which said, 'Look, he's hurting me, why arent you stopping him?!?!' but she stood stock still. Bless her
Here she is, telling you all just how painful her bad leg is
