Well just a little update on Dizzy the dog we got from dog home 4 weeks ago, she has settled in great.

Such a well behaved dog , her only fault is she is a bit of a fighter , although she is fine now with our boxer , but they did have one big fight but it was over a stick and in all fairness the boxer was at fault.

I just pop a muzzle on her at stable do she can still run around and we don't have to worry, works well and just make her ignore other dogs but without it she will go for them so just not taking a chance with her , apart from that she is lovely. Very sweet girl who loves people , wants to speak to everyone .

We got married on May 20th and Dizzy and my boxer were special guest, her is a few photos from the day

Both dogs were so well behaved and relished in all the attention , in our first dance little did I know but Dizzy decided to attach herself to the back of my dress and danced with us, she liked mouthing the dress with all the layers, she was running about all night being feed wedding cake and stovies off all the guest truly in her element.

We feel luckly to of found her , she is a wee bundle of fun and defo brightened up our house.

Is she well behaved around your horses? I love Staffies but have heard such awful stories and we looked after a Staffie X for a while for my daughter's BF and she was an absolute nightmare on the yard.

Absolutely no bother with horses , totally ignores them , if I don't have muzzle on her theni tie her up outside my stable so I can keep eye on her and if my horse sticks his nose down to her she just try's to move away, the very first time she came up to yard she went in my horses stable, he sniffed her and she snapped at him well he was having none of it and took a chunk out of her and she legged it out of stable and since then if he put his nose near her she just moves out the way of him , I think she knows he a lot bigger, she won't go looking for a fight she wants left alone it's just if a dog comes up to her she will fight it.

When off lead in field etc with horses she totally ignores them, not interested at all what so ever. When I lunge my horse she walks at my feet in the school with me, she very good wee dog.

What a lovely staffie!!I have two and love the breed and bith of mine are brilliant around my horses they do come out hacking with me also. She looks like quite a big girl from the phitos but shes gorgeous!! :)

I met a rescue staffie yesterday - tbh he terrified me at first as was snarling and acting really agressively (I really thought he was going to attack) until he got level with us when he suddenly turned into a wriggly, happy dog who wanted to play. Goodness knows what he'd been through! Glad your girl is settled into a lovely home :)

She is lovely!!! ...And so are your wedding pictures..

And I have all 3 of my staffies ( rescues) at the yard with me and they have learnt to respect horses, same as all the other dogs on the yard. No dog knows at automatically how to behave! And my 3 have to share the yard with upto a further 9 dogs as well and they do get on. Everyone has always been careful with new introductions it it does work. Youngest also hacks out with me..

She is my first Staffie I always had and grew up with Boxers but my hubby grew up with staffies and his parents still own them, I love them now, such wee characters and now think as well as always owning a boxer we will always have a Staffie as I have been really taken by her.

Have you lost the bed fight yet ?? (wanders off whistling innocently!)

Luci07 - whats the bed fight..? im prob being very thick but not sure what you mean..? :-)

I think she means that Staff's do like to sleep on ya bed..... leaving very little room for you!! :D

Its so lovely to hear that you have had a few issues with her but "just pop a muzzle on" many would have returned her.

Oh right I thought she meant that, yes well my husband work month on month off when he was home dogs were in there own bed but as two people a boxer and a Staffie, is tight :-) , but now he away they both have firmly claimed his place, the boxer is always gone by morning back to her own bed, think she gets too hot but dizzy the Staffie she does not move a muscle, snores her head off all night.

Oh no would defo of not returned her, think most issues can be dealt with if you give it time. At first it was a pain as had to be carefull in the house keeping her away from the boxer but over a few days she became friends and no longer wanted to rip her head off, and now they best chums , who sleep curled up together and happily charge round the garden playing. As for aggressive to other dogs I think we will always have to watch her, but just have to pop her on a lead or pop a muzzle on and problem solved, in fact she was playing at yard with a boxer puppy yesterday which was nice to see, with the muzzle on but just incase , she was noisy growling etc but tail was wagging all the time do we think she was being friendly and the boxer puppy was having a wail of a time :-)
