Vet came to check horse out..Would you believe mare was good(well for her only put ears back!!)First did internal examination then scan.Turns out mare has VERY bad PMT!!No cysts or such but did show that mare has been in season (has not shown any obvious signs)and also that she had recently ovulated which would account for extreme behaviour at weekend.Vet has recommended Regumate.
Said she won't bother taking blood samles for hormone levels as this would have to be done over a period of time and end result would be regumate anyway so put her on it and see if works.
Has anyone used this and was it any good? How long does it generally take to kick in?
Thanks for all help previously(it may not have seemed it but did feel a bit more positive regarding whole thing)

i'm delighted that you know what it is and its not too serious. regumate is great stuff starts working pretty quick too. the one we gave was a spray that went on feed. it is testable though so make sure it doesn't contaminate and competition horses feed buckets by mistake. also you can try her on the evening primrose oil too!
