Just thought I would do a quick update to the post below…

http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/foru...ng-the-shape-of-the-foot-with-different-shoes

In short, farrier shod new horse with Natural Balance shoes behind and she totally squared off her toes in them and I was concerned that it was the type of shoe that was causing it.

The farrier came back after 5 weeks and reshod her with normal shoes behind and said he was happy with her feet.

I have upped the work with her getting her fitter for autumn hunting to start and have been doing a lot of trotting on the road. She occasionally drags her toes but nowhere near to the extent she did with the NB's on. Her toes look normal for hind feet now and aren't squared off at all.

Whether this has anything to do with the NB shoes coming off I couldn't say but I am pretty convinced that they played a large part in her squaring her toes off.

Will take some photos later to show the difference.

Needless to say, I won't be using the NB's again.
