I just thought I would update you all as you were so kind helping with our search for a new horse.

As you know we bought Lita, a five year old black Belgian Warmblood. Last weekend we went to our first show with her - she's not been out much so it was good experience for her. Just a little local show. Abby did the Equitation and Riding Club horse on her and came 4th out of 12 in Equitation and 3rd out of 14 in Riding Club horse. So she was very pleased.

Today we have been to Somerford for a jumping lesson where she behaved very well!

Some pictures for you

Equitation - the horse in front is Biggles with Jenny (oldest daughter on) they came third.

Well it's early days yet. She is a lovely mare - but has to learn some ground manners. She has had to learn to be tied up and still gets a little edgy when left for a bit.

She also is fussy about her feet - which is a pain - and I have had to insist the girls wear their hats when trying to pick out her feet and put her boots on. But she is getting better and hopefully if they persevere every day she will realise nothing terrible happens when her feet are picked up.

But on the plus side - she has fantastic manners when ridden - and walks in and out of a trailer like a pro - despite never having been in one before we got her.

I must have missed a post as I didn't realise you'd found a new horse! She looks gorgeous, and your daughter seems to be doing well with her! How big is she?

What time were you there - we got there just before 2 and left about 3.45! We were in the end jumping arena.

Did you have a good time. I love Somerford - it's such a nice place to take them and only about 45 mins drive for us.

Oh good. I have been waiting for the update and thought it had all gone a bit quiet. I still haven't posted about our newie. Spect I better had.

Lisa have you and Pidge got shares (or a house) in Somerford park?!!!! You are never away. What's the going like?

I have just spotted this, Nuala, and I am so pleased to see that all is going well. She does look a beautiful young mare, and seems to be excactly what you were hoping for. That is great.
Your daughter rides her very well indeed, from the photos

she's looking very good, and shame we didn't know you were there otherwise could have come over to say hello. We left about 2.15pm and were parked on the back car park near the jump arenas. Had a fab time on the farm ride, but as usual forgot all about taking photos, we need a willing volunteer to walk round with us taking photos me thinks
