Sorry title wrong way round, should be rather canter than trot.

Potts has been getting progressively worse with this, so at my witts end i have borrowed a different saddle to say if he would go any different, it has slightly but not a huge amount, yesterdayi took him out in the field rather than the school and hey presto trot was the easiest thing in the world, blimin pony!! so i'm now going to ride in the field for the next few weeks to establish he's trot work before taking him back in the school. i've also put him on devils claw to give him a helping hand :D, I jumped him the other day and nearly hit the deck when he was bucking out of excitement after each fence :p

maybe they are long lost brothers!

^^^ my thoughts exactly. Especially if devils claw is needed - why? Its good stuff - my 26yo retired mare is on it but I know why and hence she is not ridden. Bucking with excitement? Are you sure? Fine if you are but if not - vet.

He is 18 and gets a bit stiff and clicky when in at night, he has to be in as nothing else on the yard goes out at night, he is not happy out alone, vet has seen him and other than mild copd which we already knew about and are managing their is nothing wrong with him, vet suggested devils claw to help stifness, I have had him 5 years and he has always bucked after fences when he is excited, he is also very strong jumping always has been.
