well vet has been today., she hs swabbed for strangles and taken bloods. not much to report on symptons other than horse is still the same.her breathing as i thought was fairly bad so she has had an ventapulmin injection and is on the granuels (sp) aswell.

the vet has said strangles is unlikely BUT it could be a low grade case.. BUT she ha also put her on a few days of injectable abs.

will report back when the results are in.

my ym spoke to vet and i wet and told the yo as a horse due to leave this week was put in my stbale yesterday, and my horse has been mixing with all the others, (was told to do this by ym)

lol ym still thinks it a bug and i think she thinks im being a bunny hugger owner. honestly im not.. and i hope she is right and its just a run of the mill bug!

Fingers crossed it is just a virus but I think you are wise to be very careful and take precautions until you are sure it isn't strangles.I am suprised the yard manager isnt more supportive the last think you want if it is strangles is horses coing and going and using each others stables it can travel like wild fire.
I commend you for fetching the vet promptly and acting responsibly If only all horse owners behaved like ou.
Hope it resolves soon it is a worry.
