Ok so when I got to Pidge tonight he was better than this morning as both patches on him were dry as opposed to wet like they were this morning. Still hot so vet is coming out again in the morning with a view to giving another cortisteroid jab.
I think I may have found what has caused this on Pidge as having looked at the photos that mum took from yesterday we did get very wet early on cantering down the steps through the water and back out again, several times. Having checked my chaps again tonight they are splattered with dried grey mud which looks like it was from the water complex and where it has dried on my chaps it has dried quite hard

plus there are quite a few Pidge hairs on them which normally then are none.
So I'm now quite certain it was my chaps drying hard that has caused this so they are now consigned to the bin.

Don't beat yourself up, though, Sue. You weren't to know, and you would certainly not have done this on purpose. Accidents do happen, sadly, and you have at least discovered what happened and taken steps to stop it happening again. Poor Pidge, but how great that he gave you no indication of any problems! What an honest chap he is!

Thanks C doesn't stop me feeling so bad and miserable does it though

I know that makes me feel even worse though as he jumped out of his skin for me and was fab

too honest for his own good

To be fair to you, he probably didn't notice until aterwards, he was having too much fun

It may well have only caused a problem later.

What Ruscara said. How could you possibly have known? I also agree with YorksG and am sure he didn't notice at the time. I do totally understand about you blaming yourself... imagine how I felt when I found maggots in PF's foofie!!!!!!!! Or, more recently, her jumping out of her skin for me only to land on her face with a cracked (possibly, not yet confirmed) jaw and loose tooth.
Oh poo. Now I feel bad too!!

I know as there was nothing there when I hosed and cooled him off, still makes me feel guilty as we did play a lot in the water complex as he adores water

I am sure non of us would hurt our animals deliberatley, but sometimes we do it accidentaly, I always feel guilty when his lordship has to be on his own from his pals for 3 weeks isolation after taking him on holiday

.

Give Pidge lots of extra cuddles

Thanks P, perhaps we should start a new clique then

No seriously you shouldn't blame yourself for PF's accident, as that is what it was no one was to blame, please don't feel bad

He has been getting extra cuddles as I can spend more time with him as he's off work so he's happier
