well my boy went to the dick vet a week past sunday and they did scans, gastroscopy stomach tap, blood tests where they found nothing major we decided colic surgery would be best to see where the problem was coming from, i decided to go fo the surgery after gettting a letter from my insurance stating they would not cover for colic or any stomach related conditions as of june 07, so i had to go for it while the insurance covered it, the result being his colon(large bowel) was attached to his body wall so they had to take it away and cut off the bad bits and sew it back together, and he is doing good at the moment, i saw him on sunday and he is grumpy but what can you expect, the vets say that is what has been causing the months of colic, i did ask what would have happened is i did not go ahead with the surgery and he would have continued to colic and his gut might have perforated resulting in emergency colic surgery and with me being 4hrs away and no transport he would not have stood a chance, now he has a long road to recovery, and hopefully he will make it. thanks for any past input to you all.
