Helloo,

I posted a while ago about my Ridgeback Tuli who got a shock from the electric fencing and was scared to go up to the field!

Anyways we have been working with her gently and slowly but of course firmly and yesterday we had a bit of a break through she heeled all the way to the field without her lead on then sat outside the field whilst i fed the horses (partner was hovering in the background!) Then came into the field with both of us and had a lovely game in the field returned to the car lovely relaxed puppy WAHOOOOO!

Just got to keep her away from the fences now!!!

It has taken Sweep nearly 9 years to work out the electric fencing - he usually sticks his nose on it about once every 2 or 3 years - big drama, won't go in the fields etc for about 3 days then his tiny small spaniel brain forgets and its back to normal...................

awwww yey! thats great! as your were worried it had really REALLY scared her hadnt you!

Glad to know she is getting back to normal! sure she will best mates with your horse again as soon as anything

thanks guys, yeps big relief, she does seem to have started giving the horses more respect now though since the "terrifying incident" so some good has definitely come out of it!

It must be a ridgie thing my sisters dog Inca went up to the fence in a field and licked it

- I think the whole county heard her scream as it was on maximum!!! She wouldn't go near that field for months, and then the following year she walked under it and got zapped right in the middle of her back - so took weeks again to get her in that particular field - sigh!!!! I think she has got the idea now though as set some up round the garden wall yesterday to stop the horses eating my flowers and she stood for a good half an hour just staring at it!!!!!

They do remember things the old ridgies he he you could hear mine screaming three villages down i think she screamed as she ran all the way back to the car!!! Bear in mind she did the same one day when she was rooting around in the straw barn and a pheasant flew up right next to her i don't know who sreamed loudest her or the pheasant!!! he he he
