I posted back in Feb about my old girl Kelly, who at 29 was really having a hard winter, as some of you will know we moved twice in 8 weeks and it really took its toll on her, she lost so much weight, the vet did full blood counts etc and everything came back fine teeth ok etc etc
Anyway after some excellent advice on here regarding different feed etc she started to pick up, im delighted to say she is well back to her normal self, i took some pictures yesterday whilst waiting for the farrier, im pleased I went with my gut instinct that she wasnt ready just yet.
Thanks again to all who gave me advice and pointed me in the direction of Kelly's now fav food! Ready Mash Extra suggested by Murphy's Minder and No4 by Kerilli who even took the trouble to send me some in the post for her to try.. THANKYOU GUYS!!

What a lovely post. Sounds as if it was the stress of moving that caused the weight loss??????

She certainly looking very well.

Ah bless her, she looks gorgeous and in wonderful condition for her age. Hopefully she'll go into winter with a nice layer of fat ready to fight the elements.

Good on all the HHO ers who helped and what a difference from all those trolls / p*ss take / harsh and critical posts that seem to have infiltrated this forum of late !

What a lovely post, glad all is well now.

The help from some people on here is amazing, and kerilli is certainly one of them.

great news she is looking really good. Did you post pics before I think I can remember them but might be getting them mixed up.

TBH i never took pictures of when she was so poor as I was so upset and ashamed, i felt through having to move twice id really finished her off so to speak!!

I have posted about my old boy a few days ago and am giving ready mash a try. With any luck i'll be posting soon with an update. I hope he looks as good as her soon. Out of interest how long did it take for her to put weight on using the different feed?

I noticed a good difference in her appetite straight away! in her body condition about 2 weeks a tiny difference and a month noticable difference, good luck with your boy. Im keeping her on Ready mash this winter she loves it! Im sure your boy will too!!

I am so pleased the soft and soak (and no 4) worked for her, she looks great. I've never used the soft and soak for my own lot who are mainly too fat, but may try it for my elderly donkey this winter as his teeth are disappearing slowly

Shall have to ask them if I get a discount as I have recommended it to a few people

Horray, my boy was exactly the same, although I have not had the same result on his toppline yet although it is coming.

I will try ready mash, however, what is it and where can I get it from?
