My poor little Pip is back at the vets again today undergoing a GA and being stitched back together after an attempt on Sunday to staple her spay wound didn't work. She wasn't due back at the vets until tomorrow but she was so unhappy and clearly in pain I took her in this morning.

My boss is being very good, yesterday I announced that I was bringing the dog into work with me (hubby was at home with her yesterday), I got a strange look but he soon agreed when I explained why! So I have an empty crate by my desk today. I hadn't been in the office half an hour when I announced I was leaving again to take her to the vets. (To be fair I have worked with him for over twenty years - he knows me well enough to know if he said no I would be walking straight out the door anyway!)

I shall be watching her 24/7 until the stitches are out and she will be accompanying me to work all week. (she got lots of ahhs this morning in the office

So sorry to hear you're having problems and hope the poor dog is feeling better soon. It's quite rare for spayings to go wrong but when they do, it's usually mega style as you have found.
What a good boss you have as well but then he knows how good you are too; it's nice when things like this happen that you can both give and take.
Fingers crossed for a full recovery and she's soon back picking up.

Thank you everyone. She is much brighter today. She has been stitched up this time with individual stitches. I am actually a little cross, as I discovered yesterday that although the vet on Sunday told me she had only burst one stitch, it was a continuous stitch. Stapling her would never have worked, as,as I discovered when we removed her bandage, the whole lot just unravels.
