:D
He is being turnt out in the field with his bandage on as he decided he didn't want to do box rest anymore and considering he hd just com right from ulcers we didn't argue with him.

if anyone wants the name of the fab dressing we are using PM me as I don't want to get into trouble for advertising.

He's been very lucky :)

My horse of a lifetime had a similar injury, but with much more bone showing and both extensor tendons totally severed. After a long hard slog, he sadly had to be PTS :(
Was the tendon involved in yours?

You look to be doing a smashing job with it. I'm so so happy for you that yours is coming right. Best wishes for the rest of the recovery :)

That's amazing. Well done all involved. Are the vets going to scrape the proud flesh away or leave it?

Yes please PM me the dressing, I am all for learning of new things :D

the extensor tendons were, thankfully, fine but the flexor was cut ( I think) but that grows back/re attaches. he was mm from damage to the hock joint so he is a very lucky boy.

Im sorry about your boy, on the way down to the clinic we were almost certain he wasn't coming home.

yes the proud flesh will be scraped, maybe this week depending on what vet says when he comes out, he doesn't want to do it too soon.

will PM you:)

Mine had the proud flesh cut back and a Robert Jones bandage which was changed every 3 days. Once the whole wound had granulated over he had a skin graft.
His wound was a huge oval shape though - yours should heal much better as it has corners.
Which vet hosp did he go to?

He went to blueberry vets Chiltern equine. Was a way to travel but they were fab!

He's not having a skin graft we got think we have avoided it. Vet is out Friday to degride it again

Can't believe he's here after what he did

He didn't need a skin graft in the end very happy about that. I don't think it would have healed as well without this dressing on. It's a new one out.

Chiltern Equine Blueberry farm hospital down near Bracknell. I think the clinic has only been open a little while but Chiltern Equine are my vets anyway so we went were their surgeon was.
Xx
