Vet decided the best way forward with Teal was to scope him and see what exactly was going on. The good news is there is no deformity, everything is how it should be. He has a lung infection, which never gave him a temperature. Vet thinks there is a possibility that he also has an abscess on one side, but she said this was quite rare so will treat the infection and hope he improves, as otherwise it will need external draining

Anyway, he is now on very expensive antibiotics which are apparently the best for treating this kind of infection. I have a huge bill, but I am so relieved he will hopefully get over it. Went in thinking it might be the end of him, which at 2 seems so unfair.

Please can I have loads of healing vibes for little Teal, and just pray the drugs work and it isn't an abscess

Sending loads of healing vibes to Teal. Think I know the antibiotics you mean, vet used them on Murph when he had a respiratory infection and Norodine and Baytril didn't work. Can't remember the name without checking old bills but scarily expensive! But on the plus side it worked for Murph fairly quickly.

Murph had excenel. £340 for 4g of powder that was made up to an injectable solution with distilled water! Hope the cephaguard does the job and Teal is soon on the mend.

I had a thought about this last night.

It couldn't be tuberculosis could it????

Hadnt thought of that, what are the symptoms again? wouldnt that give him a temp? (no idea btw)

Seeing my vet tomorrow anyway, will ask her

Hope I'm not being alarmist - it was just a thought really.......

Nice to hear he's looking brighter today though.
