The pony is no longer in Horsham...she is in my field! I used a lovely lady recommended by Chaps, and who does a lot of work with feral ponies. She caught her in minutes, loaded without any trouble and was home by lunchtime. Trev was very pleased to see her, and Finn (new boy) who arrived in her absence was delighted to see a lady horse. And she was delighted to have another boy to boss about. All 12hh of her is boss over 15.3 Finn and 16.1 Trev.

I have left the Shetland for now. I do think that everyone who said to get her was right, but...she is in a tiny field considerably smaller than a 20x40 arena which has been nibbled right down by sheep so a lot less grass than here, and our fencing project was halted by winter (heavy clay) and the temporary fencing is NOT Shetland proof. I don’t like starting every day by playing hunt the bloody Shetland followed by fence mending and then worrying about lami/colic from gorging. Fencing should be done in a month or so, then when they are bored of her, I will go and get her.

Thank you so much to everyone who commented on my last thread...I was feeling absolutely desperate and you solved it!

She does look very relaxed and happy to be back - well done. And quite understand why you left the Shetland behind now you have explained about your fencing. I'm sure another month or so won't make much difference if the grazing is restricted there.
