Just a quick update on the following thread:
http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?637647-Tips-please-Hunting-a-youngster
Took my boy out for his first day on Tuesday, followed the advice and waited for a quieter day (have been hunting a different horse).
I was so pleased, he was an absolute superstar - stood perfectly still when asked, jumped what I pointed him at and even opened a gate with his teeth (I was too busy laughing to get through the first time, and he did it again!).
Still having serious control issues though, he puts his head down and sods off as soon as the field start cantering. Thinking of trying the full cheek waterford to stop the leaning (just when hunting and keep his copper roller snaffle for hacking/schooling), any opinions on this?
Also, had a quick google on the kineton noseband as have not heard of it before but can anyone explain how they work?
