I went to see him yesterday, as did Martha (l_p_p) and he was very perky, articulate and crude as usual..

So when I went today with another good friend of his, expecting him to be even better, we found him asleep. We didn't wake him but nurse did for some reason. He was in so much pain he could barely talk and repeatedly pressed the morphene button

After about 10 minutes he went back to sleep to try and releive the pain and we left. I nearly cried!!! The first thing he said to me was 'do I smell really bad?

' and then had a very simple convosation and went. He has had a tube through his nose to feed him as he cannot hold food down - I think due to his stomach being squashed in the fall

So was opromistic yesterday, but not too good today - more vibes are needed I think...

Oh poor guy - I got a text from him yesterday so think he was feeling better then.

It was a bad fall by all accounts, and all the visiting info says visits are restricted because they will be very tired and need to sleep a lot, so try not to worry too much. It's why I've help off going to see him as yet- wanted to hear that he was up to yet more people as I am sure he'd rather see you guys then me!

You know he must be getting fed up with me

He was so churpy yesterday! Full of himself, saying how he would be riding in 10 weeks and all this stuff... and then this!! He was just in agony! Also, where is your first event...

First event is Aldon I hope - depends on whether or not I get balloted....

I missed the OP about his fall so had to trawl back through and find out what had happened. I'm so so sorry for him, it's an awful thing to happen at any time but the poor chap is going to be so pi55ed it happened right at the beginning of the eventing season

Please pass on get well wishes to him and will send as many healing vibes as possible. Keep his spirits up when he's awake, it sounds like he has an awful long recovery ahead of him.

I hope he is feeling brighter soon and gets himself fixed. He will have good and bad days.
I'm not sure if it would be the same but after the surgery on my hip on Wednesday they deadened my nerves in that area with anaesthetic, that mixed with Morphine and I felt ok, however the next day once that anaesthetic had worn off I was in a lot of pain again. Perhaps the same could be said for him.
It isn't nice to see someone you know in pain though. Good vibes are being sent his way from me

(((((((((((((((((((((((((Healing Vibes))))))))))))))))))))))))))

He must be in a lot of pain. Unfortunately all he can do is ask for painkillers at the moment. Fortunately he is young and fit which will help him recover.

Poor guy.

How totally horrid for everyone!!
But with injuries like that, nothing's going to happen quickly! and i'm sure there'll be many more bad days to come
