Well, since my daughter has dropped the 'overnight bombshell' that she's jacking in the horses things are looking up. My main worry was our pony who she couldnt even be bothered to ride. BUT a really lovely family took him on trial for a week and have bought him! They adore him & went to their first show this w'end where he was second in the SJ and won the XC - so he's back doing what he loves! With regard to the Grade A I have took your advice and decided to have a go at competing him myself! I've been hacking out and schooling him this week and as soon as my 'show rig-out' arrives from ebay I'm gonna take the plunge and take the old fella to a show - no higher than 90cm though cos I'm too scared !!! (Havent competed for over 15 years). Bit concerned I'll ruin him but he has been doing 1.20m plus classes so hopefully he won't mind taking a 'rusty old dear' round the small stuff. Wish me luck and fingers crossed I won't break my neck!!!

That is good news on the pony..and I am sure the bigger one will look after you - well done for having a go

glad the pony has a lovely home, and good luck! It's scary when you havent competed in years, but its such a buzz and the more you do it the smaller they'll look. Good luck

Excellent that the pony's found a nice home and I hope you have a fun time on the horse. I started competing after well over 25 years away and I love it! just wait till you start to loosen up and that old competitive spirit comes flooding back!

Well done for taking things back into your own hands. Hope your daughter has enough appreciation to come and support her mum once in a while.

Best of luck with your competing.
