Hi

Just thought I would keep you all informed on our search for a pony for Abby to do BSJA on.

Our trainer does not think Mouse is suitable (this is the lovely Connemara grey.) Apparently, it hasn't been backed that long and she thinks it would need a year of local shows before doing BSJA. If Abby was 14 we would snap him up as he was such a lovely boy - but she only has a year and a half so needs something a bit more proven.

We tried another pony tonight that had done a lot but the girls did not gel with it. So we are back to the beginning but a little wiser. We have an idea of what we want now - we think. No older than 9, ready to or just beginning BSJA, and we really liked the Connemara so will probably look for something like that with a little more experience.

ooohh i like him,sounds good

No be shallow - I am and that's just what I said to my daughter - I don't like the markings on his face.

I am very shallow and I want a pretty pony to photograph - almost as much as Abby wants to BSJA.

Ugly bugger! As are all Appaloosa's

. BUT I have 3 Appaloosas here and they are the most affectionate and loyal horses.

They are also intelligent animals and very good jumpers.

Well worth a look in my opinion.

i love appys, so the 1st 1 i thought was fab. and am bypassing the comments about how he looks

i think he's lovely.
really like the 2nd 1 too, just not keen on greys (sorry to all the grey lovers out there) as a groom i appreciatte how d@mn difficult it is to keep them clean lol

If it were my choice right now I quite like the little appy! He has such a great look about him in my opinion! I used to HATE Paints and Appys as a kid though and would have died for the little grey! It is not superficial at all because when I was a young girl what my horse looked like was very important!

I always wanted a Grey arab as a young girl but my family hated them for some reason and I always was stuck with Quarter horses.

Now I just adore a good Quarter horse! I also get very excited when I see a nicely marked paint or App! How things change

I'm very offended by all you appy haters! (lol)
Rosie's spotty boy qualified for the British Novice Championships at Gatcombe earlier today, won a big BSJA class at a show yesterday - and - he's inthe Pony Club 2007 calendar (April I think). Don't know how to insert a piccy into a post but he's the one in my avatar.

ps: BTW, how do you put pic in post rather than pasting a link to photobucket or wotever?

See I think the Appy is gorgeous

I think he has fab markings. Also really like the grey conny, I think both are worth a look if possible.

I know exactly how hard it is, we were looking for EXACTLY the same sort of pony for my sis a few years ago. We never did find it

so I bought a big grey dressage WB instead

lol.

I feel the same, and I know what you mean about wanting something pretty to photograph, he does sound like a smashing pony though.

I'm not sure why, but the appy isn't appealing to me, nothing to do with the colour - I'm not that kinda girl, but it's not a pony I would want to go and see.... they want to sell him as anything, don't think i like that...

other one looks nice though. xx
