Haven't posted on here in a fair while, so thought I would give an update on smoke after nearly 2 years.

Last year I broke up with my partner and as he did a lot of the bringing in and turning out, I needed to get a sharer. All was fine, so moved his yard to somewhere with a better school and better jumps etc. he never really settled in, think hat yard was too big. Anyway, he was going really well with me, we were jumping about 1m10 courses at home and doing fairly well at about 1m at shows.

Things changed with work, so I started having less and less time, so went to put him on loan, he went to the sharer.

Loaned him for about 4-5 months, checked monthly to start with, but then thought I could trust her and left her for about 2-3 months. Went to see him 6 weeks ago, and noticed he was incredibly under weight and had no muscles other than on under his neck where he had obviously gone round like a llama for months.

Long story short, gave her a months notice and ended up picking him up a week later.

He went to nearly as bad as he was when I initially tried him out, bucking, not standing when asked, not working on a contact, refusing any kind of jump combinations, exactly how he was when I first bought him, and obviously horribly skinny :(

5 weeks after having him back, his weight is almost back to where it should be, his muscles as top line are redeveloping, and he can stand most of the time now. He is also jumping 1m10 dog legs, doubles an courses, and today took me round 1m25 course with a 1m30 double.

I promised him 18 months ago when I bought him he would no longer have to worry about food and neglect, so I'm gutted I let him suffer again :(

She told me tbs drop off in the winter, yet even the vet is astounded at how much weight he has put on in 5 weeks, and how much healthier and fitter he is! Proof they don't need to drop off if they are fed the right food!

But my work is still pretty chaotic, so I'm now looking at putting him on LWVTB in the next month or 2 :(

Pictures of our last 18 months will be added shortly :)
