My vet rang me to say that surgeon that had sorted my girl before had had a look at the scans and was suspecting a pastern fracture, cue panic and worry that there is now two problems.
This didn't explain the swelling up the leg and when he came back to put some anaesthetic in the joint to see if the lameness was still there or not, the swelling hadn't gone down enough. More antibiotics and bandaging and check in the morning.

Finally his second visit it had gone down and after being so out of character the day before when he was poking and prodding, she trotted up a whole lot more sound. So no fracture but definitely mores arthritic changes that will be remedicated and I can get back to riding slowly slowly. Will need an arthroscopy in the near future but until they get into the joint they can't fully tell if it's just more changes or debris although the latter is possible when you look at her joint fluid.

Just happy that i'm getting my girl back a bit even if she will only get worse in time. With medication every so often we can get back to hacking at least, it's def better than nothing as I was dreading having to retire her so soon. She loves to be doing something and was certainly glad to get back out to grass today!
Apologies for being long just a small relief although not over
