Thank you to those who replied to my original thread. All v.kind.
He is getting a lot better, eating full dinners and making attempts to get up and walk around. He is still getting spasms of pain. Vet thinks he is exterting himself too much and has also damaged his neck (hence not being able to get up etc) but currently he is in lot better form. Although the vet will not operate on his neck as it is too risky with his age.
If he is allowed out walking again, he's not allowed of the lead and only wee short walks from now on. No more tearing around any beaches. Although the vet will not operate on his neck as it is too risky with his age.
Just keep fingers crossed the improvement continues! We were all so scared we were going to lose him.
