A few people asked me to post an update with how I got on with the whole appallaing "full livery" care my horse was getting. After mentioning it to the YO, who insisted my horse would be turned out etc etc, not much changed. He didn't get out for another two days, didn't get his rugs changed, had a really poor skip out, AND this time, he didn't even get his bucket feed at tea time both nights! Really upset about it, I want the best for him and it's not happening. So i've changed my hours at work so that I don't need him on full livery at all, and shall be moving elsewhere when I find somewhere nice.

If places haven't got the staff/dedication to provide services like that, they shouldn't offer them

But thanks for the words of encouragement x

That's absolutely appalling. I think it's quite right that you leave when you find a suitable yard. Ideally sooner rather than later!!!

Good luck in finding somewhere where you and your horse will be very happy. The way your YO has treated you is abysmal.

Good Luck.

I've been through the mill with a previous yard I was at and it really is the most upsetting thing to go through becuase it becommes like a second home and you just want the best for your horse. but you can come out the other side and find a great yard where people will appreciate you and your horse. I have and you will too. xxx

Move as soon as you can find a nice yard - and don't pay the full amount of your livery when you do go. It's a bit anal, but you could tot up the value of all the services your horse has been denied, and subtract that from the final bill. Or just not pay your last month's livery bill at all.

I'd never usually encourage anyone to do this, but in this case, as you have made it clear to them you are not happy, and you are STILL not getting what you pay for, why pay full whack? They don't care about your horse, so hit them where it hurts - in the pocket.
