Just a quick update to let you now how my friends mare Rosie is.
We have absolutely no idea what she managed to injure herself on even though the field was given a very close inspection. It is thanks to some workmen working close by that spotted her bleeding that Rosie is still with us today.
Rosie is on bute twice a day for the next few days. She is allowed a 5 minute walk twice a day to keep her moving. The vet is going to see about removing the packing in a day or two as doesn't want an infection to set in. Worry is that when the packing is removed the wound will start up again. Vet says its highly likely she has nicked an artery or a vein due to the amount of blood and the speed she lost it.
Fingers crossed that Rosie makes a full recovery with no setbacks
