We took Sid to his 1st show today.
History reminder - Sid was a very nervous pony when he came and had been badly beaten with open wounds, uncatchable and generally a sorry boy.
Well a year on he is now the most friendly and sociable pony possible so we thought we'd take him to a show to absorb the atmosphere etc.
We did 1 In Hand class (Trailblazers small breeds). He behaved impeccably and was a joy to take and his ears couldn't have been anymore pricked. (Proud MUM
)
He came 3rd (out of 3, but a 3rds a 3rd)! When I asked the judge for any tips or advise he said he needs more weight and to pick his feet up more in trot. Did think the second comment was slightly odd as the Sec A who came second had to be dragged into a trot with it's mouth wide open in defiance and although the front end was trotting somehow the back end was still walking. But anyhow the right pony won- he was a cracker of a shetland.
Going to go to a small pony club show tomorrow and wonder around with the girls on the lead rein to soak up the fun there- big smiles on faces today x

And looking a little miffed as Sid quite fancied the nice red 1st rosette.
