OK, I guess now I have a problem. Any advice will be greatly received. The 3 year old stallion I bought three days ago arrived without testicles. I only bought him as he was advertised as a stallion. The vendor assured me he's not a rig, must be stressed and things will return to normal in a couple of days at most.

Well here we are and still no sign.

The vendor has suggested today that the two hour transport from her yard to mine may have caused them to become permanently inverted!

Is that possible???

Sounds unlikely to me but I need some help!

What should I do next?

You need this question answering he's either a stallion or he's isn't & a vet is the person who will be able to tell you. Get the vet out to examine. He'll also be able to advise you that if he horse is a stallion what is wrong with him at the moment.

Once you've got a definative answer you take the necessary action

Never heard of them going up never to return

If they do go out I think a vet should take a look incase of a twist preventing them from dropping (torsion)
Very odd.

Am I the only one questioning this posters authenticity?

I don't know WHAT you mean TripleSandH - this sort of thing happens all the time y'know!
Oh yes, absolutely - horses' b*lls can go missing at any point, due to stress, change of food, free radicals in the atmosphere, climate change, etc. etc.
You've been around horses a while now - surely you would know this?

Maybe call in a horsey psychic person, ask horsey himself what happened to them?

Ok, I am going to assume this is a genuine post and say you must call the vet asap. If you have paid for the horse and still have the advert then you have every right to send him back if he is not a stallion.

But your vet is an absolute must now.

Have you searched his bed thoroughly?
Do any of your friends watch 'Return to River Cottage too closely?'
Are you sure you collected his testicles from the vendor?
If you think they've been sucked back in, maybe you should go up after them? Watch out for when it gets REALLY dark.

My young stallion used to look like he had no testicles after travelling or if he got stressed. They would dropped down after a few hours though! I would definitely speak to your vet (that is if you are a genuine poster).

This thread has made me laugh out loud over my lunch break!!!
Thanks everyone, just when i thought i couldn't make it through the afternoon!!

hmmm if this is a serious post then the purchaser is obviously very stupid for not checking him better when looking at him, the only time iv known stallions to lift up his gear of the way is when they jump
and i would get the vet to check him, but would send the horse back
