Just a little update following my post last week.

I bathed Merryn on Thursday morning incase it was sand or mites setting him off.
In the eve as I walked through Merryns old paddock to feed Herbs I was shocked at how much grass had grown considering when we moved him out afew weeks ago it was just mud.
I turned Merryn out in his new field and he was good to lead out but once in his field he went mad. He was rearing up so high I thought he was going to go over backwards
Then that eve when I went to late check them I stood and watched Merryn eat. I've never seen a horse eat that fast he was stuffing it in. I came back in and told my OH I was worried about the grass. I went to work the next morning and told my boss my fears but she told me not to be so stupid there was no goodness in the grass, it's november. I pointed out how mild it was, (Down here we still have midges  ). I went home and got Merryn ready for lunging. As I looked at him his coat was laying flat due to his bath the day before and I thought he looked like he had put on some weight.
I took him in the school and started lunging. He was quite pottery to begin with. I finished lunging, put him away, fiddled around for a bit then put the weightape on him. Last week I weighed him and he was under 400kgs (Can't remember how much) But He was now 412kgs. He had put on 10-20kgs in a week    That confermed my theory about the grass as his feed had been cut right down. I felt for paulses in his feet but couldn't find any thank god.
I went out and reduced his patch even more.
On Fri, Sat and Sunday I lunged him twice a day and we went out and bought him some Hi-Fi no molassis (He was getting happyhoof before)
Over the weekend he seemed to clam down so on Monday I rode him in the school. He felt much calmer and more relaxed. Yesyerday I rode him out. Just round the block to see how he was and again he felt so much better. :) I'm going to ride him round the block again today, then slowly build the hacks up and see how he goes and if he's fine I'll do a small hack with a friend and build that up to.
Hopefuly I'll have my lovely MrMerryn back soon.
I'm such an idiot I should have known it's the grass but in November you realy don't expect it.
Thankyou for reading my post and if you read the last one. Thankyou for all the advice. Hopefuly were ontop of it now and harmony will be restored ;) :D

Phew, thank goodness there was a simple explanation. There is one on our yard who is going a bit mad with the grass at the moment too, he's like a different pony.

Thankyou. I'm hoping this is all it is. I know two other ponies who are acting just the same. It's crazy, it's so mild down here the grass is like spring grass.

Well I wouldn't have thought of the grass in November either - but it has occured to me how green and grass-covered my paddocks are given the time of year too. Glad you seem to have found a simple explanation :)
