opinions please, hes sound on all surfaces at the minute

I will be interested to hear about this - that's what my horse's soles look like especially frogs (especially compared to the haffie's pics) and she is having her shoes off tomorrow. Out of interest, how long ago did you have his shoes off and how long was he shod for? I am vastly encouraged by the 'sound on all surfaces' comment as I am nervous as anything...

Hes been barefoot for just over three weeks Been shod for most of his 21years. I tried to take him BF about 3/4 years ago when I took his hinds off. His back feet are like rocks (and white lol) so hopeing the fronts will do the same

He's sound on all surfaces...so you must be doing everything right so far.

Walls too long and frog still looks weak and tatty - but these aren't things that you can change without a bit of time. You couldn't trim the wall much shorter without going too far at this point and the frogs will become more dense and tidy with stimulation.

Just out of shoes - they look pretty good. I reckon with more work they'll look perfect real fast...but that's dependant on you not having anything else to do than ride all day I'm sure your boss will understand why you can't come to work at the moment

Look better than mine when I took his shoes off he took chunks out of the walls that I was worried. My farrier was not at all worried and just said its the holes growing out(weakness). They look slightly long but fine(would just do it slowly).

Mine has been off for about a year and his are fine.But he is unridden on grass and retired.

He will still be in work (flat work and hacking only) hopefully as hes still a very active boy

Going to build him back up slowly to fitness (so as the feet have the best chance of being fab ) and hopefully get out showing in March

Take pics every week (side and solar) when he's back in work - it'll be interesting to watch them change.....

I have also ordered him a mint flavour rockies lick (only flavour he will actually touch ) and also got my mare one as well as she is bare behind, got her an apple flavoured one as she will lick at anything
