I had a fall last week from my horse and shuck myself up a bit! I was advised by my doctor to take it easy for a week or so, so I asked my trainer to come and ride her a couple of times and I would lunge inbetween. The sessions were planned and I was happy that my horse was going to get some work (I fell off during a big bucking session - she was telling me she needed a bit more work hehe). Anyhow trainer text and cancelled and said she would get back to me about another session. Took her ages to get back to me and when she did she said can do Thursday but shall we just do Friday? (Friday had been pre-arranged). I was a bit miffed to say the least. I had asked for extra sessions to help my confidance after the fall and help me keep my mare in work as this was the cause of the fall! What do you think? Am I over reacting by wanting to find someone a little more supportive?

Yep I was going to pay her my normal lesson price. I would never have expected her to do it for free. I just feel let down by her really, could have done with a hand this week!

Fiarly bad, tho it was short notice, is it any chance she's just busy?
Otherwise maybe look for someone else

Well I always have a lesson with her on a Friday so that would have been ok as normal. She was going to come over on Monday (that had been planned from the week before) but she text me the day before to cancel the monday lesson and re-arrange. Thats when she said "Shall we just do Friday". I had previously spoken to her about having two lessons a week to help us improve abit quicker and she ok'd it?! The thing that annoys me the most is that I've asked for extra help and she doesn't seem to want to?

This would annoy me. If you're paying for lessons & help, you need to feel that the person gives a cr*p about you.

Unless you totally *love* this instructor, I'd have some fun trying out some new ones & finding one that actually cares about your progress.

if your not happy then look elsewhere but dnt make a meal of it.... i have recemtly had lessons from a new instructor and unfortunately after 4 lessons i decided that it wasnt in mine or myhorses interests to carry on so i switched... but i know that should i need to in the future i could still ring her for a lesson

Probably not quite the right moment to jump ship but if trainer cant help when you obviously need it I would start looking elsewhere - bit like a marriage - in sickness and in health and all that!
