has anyone got any suggestions for a bit for using for xc, on a fairly strong tb with sensitive mouth? Just tried a tom thumb, put it in his mouth, didnt seem to mind it, but its to small for him, and cant get it in a bigger size...

something like a bubble bit/dutch gag that uses some poll pressure maybe? they come with lots of different mouthpieces for sensitive mouths?

How about a Myler short shank combination?
Because the pressure is dispersed between the mouth/poll/nose and chin, you can (usually) use less rein pressure to get the message across, thus protecting your horses sensitive mouth.

Tom thumbs are lovely and you can get them in 6" - how big do you need?

In theory, i need a 5.5" one, but its to small, I dont know why.
