As many of you know I have twix - rescue anglo arab mare. I totally unexpectedly lost my job on thursday, and as a result I have absolutely no way to pay my livery prices. I did have a friend who was going to have her temporarily but they now can't. I'm on dior need of finding a full loan home for her as a temporary measure until I get myself sorted. If absolutely necessary I will consider other options but right now I need to find somewhere nice for her without having to sell her as jobhunting is at a dead end. I know the chances of someone wanting an unrideable horse are slim but I'd be happy to sign a contract saying I'd reimburse your livery fees (within reason) if necessary. Shed be a fab companion. I'm really stuck and crying out for help - please don't judge me.

Hi,

Firstly i am sorry to hear about your job and i wish you well in finding another.

I had a friend in the same predicament recently and she managed to secure grass livery for less than £10 a week, is this an option for you?

Apologies if by livery fees you meant any at all and i have misunderstood

Good Luck :)

I'm in dorset - my livery is only 50 a month but I was only working part time, and loan horse is going back so have to pay shoes etc, leaves me with not a penny! Rent due on 1st aswell. I really am totally stuck and so worried. :(

This is the mare in question:

Shes a lovely girl and just needs somewhere to stay on a holiday for a short while otherwise Ill end up with only one option - to sell. And due to her condition still not be fantastic etc, Id end up selling her dirt cheap and I do not want an uncertain future for her as shes already had a bad start.

Oh so sorry to hear of your predicament, dont you have anyone who can help you out in the short term, it would be so sad if you have to sell her, cant she go on loan as a companion short term

Could you ask around yards, riding schools, stud farms or local farmers to see if she could stay there in return you could do some work/chores to cover her livery costs?

Firstly don't panic ,

next speak to livery yard owner if you have not already done so ask for a months grace or ask to pay half on the first if you can manage that if you have only just lost your job then you must still have pay to come ?

next advertise on all websites and feed places for companion loan for 6 - 12 months

then trawl adverts etc for jobs what did you do before ? there are many cleaning / caring jobs going try shops even for stacking shelves etc i would do anything to keep mine so you may find your self a small cleaning job short time till another more permanant one comes up BUT breathe ................... dont panic !!!!!

maybesomeone could help you on any of these forums you never do know whose looking for a campanion i would help if nearer but too far from me good luck ;)

Id ordere quite a few bits for my cats and yes have next weeks pay to come but nearly all that has gone as hes taking what i owe for the bits I ordered for the cats.

Im trying everything I can, have lost count how many cv's ive handed out over the last 6 months. its not the long term thats the problem at the mo, its the fact my rent and my livery is due in 4 days time, and I just cant do it!

thank you though

Can I ask why she is unridable? Is it just that she needs breaking or is there another reason? So sorry to hear about your job situation. It really sucks.

She needs rebreaking, she was broken but when sold to new owners, they couldn't handle her , could buck during season. so they didnt think to sell her, or to call some help in, instead they left her in a field for 2 years doing bugger all. so would need taking back to basics :(

Would you consider loan with view to buy? Not asking for myself, but know of someone wanting and anglo arab who has their own place (five star home), though they may not want a mare due to having 3 geldings.

I'd consider anything providing I could have a look at the home. I would only want peanuts for her to a good home but if I had any reservations she would go nowhere.
