Urgent home for companion horse needed..

THERE IS VERY LITTLE TIME TO HELP BUT....
We are trying to save a horse who was was dumped by her so called owners and now the funding for her keep is exhausted. She is due to be destroyed this coming Friday.

She is a 17 years old, 16.1 hands grey mare. She is cannot be ridden, but would make a good companion horse. An experienced owner would be required to look after her. She neither needs nor likes a stable but does require a large area of dry ground as she is prone to thrush.

I do not know anything about this horse but thought I would post her plight here to see if anyone is able to help her as I know some of you do keep/need companion horses for your horses.

Having had a pretty awful experience with my son's pony, I advise caution, and at least it she is PTS you know that she is not being mistreated somewhere.

I think the same - but Many Tears and CARA both home vet and get references etc so it would be up to them where the horse went.

Have you tried to contact Lluest horse and pony trust, they aren't "too" far from there.

I will leave contacting people up to CARA as they will know who they will let the horse go to or not and am sure that they will know a lot of the local rescues themselves anyway. I imagine thats why they are appealing to the public.
