I'm clipping 1 of my horses today but I'm giving her sedalin because she isn't the fondest of being clipped (we're working on it), but is it okay to give it to her straight after her breakfast?

Just thought I'd ask, just incase!

not a good idea and you should leave it an hour so after too for the reason above, They can colic as the digestive tract slows and a build up could occur.

Also don't feed anything until they are completely right again in case they choke. Vet also had a story about a horse that was sedated and leaned against the stable door and throttled itself!

She told me not to leave the horse until it was completely "round."
This was for an X ray, so probably more sedative used than for a clip.

Thanks, left before I read these replies but asked on the yard where I was told the same thing so she just had a handful.

I turned her out before I left, and its now 3 hours since and she was back to herself enough to drag me round the yard so I think she was okay -laughs-
