All dealt with. Came across a v rutted bridleway while riding out of my usual area on a cob that a lady kindly let me ride after my horse died.

I only reported it a week or so ago, & already the bridleways officer has made the council aware, there's been a site visit & they've agreed to set funds aside for it! Will be all fixed within (bridleway officer thinks) 2 months. How's that for service!!

So the moral of the story is - report dangerous bridleways to your BHS bridleways officer!!!

It's the one that starts by a farm called Woodcotes, off a road that curves round to Kelshall.

Maybe they'll fix it so the 4x4s can't spoil it?? The borrowed cob I was on was really struggling. Wouldn't have gone down there if I'd realised how bad it was, but I was coming from the other way so didn't realise til it was too late.

Oh well, I've done my best...

yep, that's the one. It comes off a green lane at the other end and is also used for farm vehicles so can't be blocked i believe. The motorbikes also scream around those tracks quite often. The one that goes from Therfield to Sandon gets bad too.

We have had a vast amount of experience with 4 wheel drive vehicles on RUPP's (Road Used as a Public Path) so I am hoping that this section of track will be completly resurfaced (with drainage where appropriate) so that even if the 4 wheel drive vehicles use it in the middle of Winter that they can no longer damage it.

If you have any more bridleway problems then please do not hesitate to contact me on peter.natt@btinternet.com
