Urgent - need quick answers - dutch gag question...

Ok, am attempting to attach recently purchased 3 ring dutch gag to bridle, and this is probably going to sound like a very dense question!

Do the cheek pieces attach to the top small ring, above the main snaffle ring?

Here you go, clever little animation of a correctly fitted gag.. Ignore the fact the flash is undone and that it's not a more conventional three ring.

Cool diagram shaab! George is going much better now I've put him back in the dutch gag, but he does like the happy mouth one with the roller in the middle - just a thought!
